ABOUT US

INDUSTRY MEDIA is a leading media business affairs consultancy set up in 2004 to advise and assist independent media production companies and creative talent across the UK and internationally.

We can assist with all aspects of media business affairs including original script and format deals, book rights, development and production deals, commissioning broadcaster agreements, talent and other production agreements, co-production deals, distribution and rights exploitation arrangements.   As well as negotiating and completing all the contractual necessities quickly and cost effectively, we add value and commercial insight due to the volume and range of deals we have advised on in the UK and internationally.

Industry Media is independently owned and managed by its directors Rosemary Klein and Huw Walters following a management buyout from the James Grant Group in September 2018.

OUR PEOPLE

Rosemary klein

Rosemary is a dual qualified English and Canadian lawyer and has worked both in-house and in private practice since 1990 advising various media companies on production, distribution, exploitation and protection issue. Previous to qualifying as a lawyer she was a stage manager and company manager at the Stratford Festival and various regional theatre companies in Canada.  She re-joined Industry Media in 2016 from the TVA Business Affairs Consultancy and was previously at Rights TV.

Rosemary has advised NBC Universal International, Comedy Central and was Director of Legal at Nickelodeon UK and Head of Production Contracting at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Bell Canada’s legal adviser on digital content for its Sympatico web service. Rosemary sits on the Boards of Animated Women UK, the Children’s Media Foundation and the Zoielogic Dance Company

HUW Walters

Huw has more than 20 years’ experience of tv business affairs, programme finance and rights exploitation with a particular focus on international co-production.   He has recent experience of negotiating deals with all the major UK broadcasters and with key international broadcasters, SVOD platforms and distributors.  As a result, he has a thorough understanding of tv business affairs contracts, co-production treaties, talent deals and agreements relating to ancillary exploitation.

Huw was previously a director of multi BAFTA winning animation producer Calon and, before that, he was Director of International Business and Head of Co-Productions at Welsh broadcaster S4C working on many UK and international series including children’s brand Fireman Sam and Emmy award winning Shakespeare - the Animated Tales.
